A far away village survives on the outskirts of a strange Forested Plain surrounded by a huge cliff. The people who live there, isolated from the rest of the world, worship an ancient demon as a god of fertility. In the heart of the Plain, a statue on an altar is the scene of sacrifices of blood and flesh. The worshippers believe that by sacrificing a few, food will never run out and the lands will always be The Yielding Plains...
Unsuspecting travellers are welcomed promptly, offering blood and flesh of a stranger to the god beneath the earth, spares the worshippers from having their own people sacrificed...

The Moving Swamp is the kind of challenge that, once read, turns some gears on a DM's head about how to work out of the ordinary on a Old School game.
